What we move, and what's involved
Every move looks simple until you're standing in front of a wardrobe that won't fit through the door. Here's what each of our removals services in Dubai actually involves, so you can work out what you need before you ask for a price.
Apartment removals
Most Dubai moves are apartment to apartment, and almost all of the difficulty sits at the two ends rather than on the road between them. Before we quote, we ask about the floor, the service lift, the distance from the lift to your door, and whether the building gives movers a time slot.
On the day, the team protects the lift and corridor where the building requires it, wraps furniture before it leaves the flat, and works in a sequence that keeps the lift moving rather than blocking it for other residents. If your building only allows moves between certain hours, we plan the load around that window instead of discovering it at 8am.
Villa removals
Villas bring more volume and more awkward items: garden furniture, storage from the maid's room, large dining tables, wardrobes assembled inside the room they now have to leave. Access is usually easier, but the packing takes longer than people expect.
We'd normally look at a villa move in stages — non-essentials packed ahead of the day, kitchen and bedrooms packed on the morning, then loading in an order that puts the first-needed items off the truck last. If you've got a garden shed, an outdoor unit or a heavy safe, mention it early; those are the items that change the crew size.
Office and commercial moves
An office move is judged on downtime. The furniture is rarely the problem — the problem is that thirty people need to sit down and work the next morning. So we plan around your last working hour, not around ours, and label everything by destination desk or room rather than by contents.
Workstations are dismantled, screens and IT equipment are wrapped separately, and files stay in order so nothing has to be re-sorted at the other end. Most commercial buildings in Dubai require moves outside business hours and a permit arranged in advance — we'll tell you what your building is likely to ask for once we know the tower.
Furniture moving and single-item jobs
Not every job is a full relocation. Sometimes it's one sofa, a bedroom set bought from a friend, or moving everything from one floor to another inside the same building. These are quoted on manpower, vehicle size and time rather than on a property size.

Packing, unpacking and materials
Packing is the part customers most often underestimate. A two-bedroom apartment packed properly is several hours of work with the right boxes, and it's the single biggest factor in whether anything arrives broken.
We can pack everything, pack only the fragile and awkward items — kitchens, glassware, mirrors, artwork, TVs — or leave the packing entirely to you. Tell us which when you ask for your quote, because the materials and the hours change significantly between those options. If you want unpacking at the other end, with boxes flattened and taken away, ask for it in the same conversation.
Dismantling and reassembly
Beds, wardrobes, dining tables, desks, gym equipment and most flat-pack furniture come apart to travel safely and to fit through doors and lifts. Our team dismantles what needs dismantling, keeps the fittings bagged and labelled with the piece they belong to, and reassembles at the destination.
One honest note: furniture that has already been assembled and moved several times, or that was built in place from cheaper board, doesn't always survive another round trip. If we think a piece is at risk, we'll say so before we touch it rather than after.
Fragile and high-value items
Glass table tops, mirrors, framed artwork, marble, TVs, chandeliers, musical instruments and anything with a screen need dedicated materials and a slower pace. They're wrapped individually, boxed or crated where appropriate, and loaded so nothing rests on top of them.
Please point these items out when you ask for your quote. A quotation built for ordinary household furniture won't include the right protection for a 75-inch TV or a glass dining table, and finding out on moving day helps nobody.
Loading, transport and unloading
Furniture is blanket-wrapped, corners and edges protected, and everything is secured inside the vehicle so it doesn't shift on Sheikh Zayed Road. Vehicle size is matched to the volume — sending a truck that's too small means a second trip, and you end up paying for it in time.
At the destination, boxes go to the rooms marked on them, furniture is placed where you want it, and reassembly happens before the team leaves. It's much easier to have a wardrobe put in the right corner now than to move it yourself next weekend.
Can you pack everything for me?
Yes. Tell us what needs packing when you ask for your quotation — whole property, or just the kitchen and fragile items. That tells us how many boxes and how much wrapping material to bring, and how many hours to allow. Full packing is usually done on the day of the move for kitchens and bedrooms, and a day earlier for everything else if the timing is tight.
Do I need to dismantle my bed before your team arrives?
No, not if furniture dismantling is part of the service you've agreed. Show us the bed, wardrobe or desk when you request your quote — a photo is enough — so we bring the right tools and allow time for it. If you'd prefer to dismantle things yourself to keep the cost down, that's fine, just let us know so we don't budget hours you don't need.

This is the step that decides whether your quote is accurate. The most useful thing you can send is a short video walk-through — open the wardrobes, show the store room, show the balcony. How far in advance should I book?
A week or two is comfortable for most moves. End of month, weekends and the busy summer period fill up faster, and some buildings only allow one move per day — so the date you want may depend on the tower as much as on us. If your move is tomorrow, still call; we'll tell you honestly whether we can staff it properly rather than promise and scramble.
What affects the price of a Dubai move
There's no fixed rate card for removals in Dubai, because two three-bedroom apartments can be completely different jobs. These are the factors that genuinely move the number, and they're worth knowing before you compare quotes:

Removal quotes in Dubai vary widely, and often it's because they're not describing the same work. Here's what a properly specified move normally covers — use it as a checklist when you compare.

Two things are worth confirming in writing before you book — with us or with anyone else. First, whether packing materials are included in the price or charged on top. Second, exactly which items are covered, because "furniture" sometimes quietly excludes the contents of wardrobes, the balcony, the store room and the kitchen.
Ask about cover for your belongings as well. Requirements differ between buildings and between moving companies, and it's a fair question to put to any mover before you commit. We'll tell you plainly what applies to your job rather than leaving you to assume.
Moving within Dubai: access, permits and timing
In most cities, the hard part of a move is the driving. In Dubai, it's the door you're trying to get through. Buildings and communities here control access closely, and a move that isn't approved simply doesn't start.
Move-in and move-out permits
Most residential buildings and managed communities in Dubai require an approved move-in or move-out permit — sometimes called an NOC — before movers are allowed in. Security can and does turn crews away without one. The permit is normally issued by your building management, facilities management company or the master developer of your community, and it's usually the resident who applies, not the moving company.
What's typically requested is a tenancy contract or title deed, Emirates ID, and often documents from your moving company such as a trade licence. Some buildings ask for a refundable deposit against damage to common areas. Requirements, fees and processing times genuinely vary from one tower or community to the next, so treat all of this as a guide and confirm the specifics with your own management office. As a rule of thumb, start the paperwork at least three to seven days before your date, and earlier for month-end and weekend moves.
Do you arrange the permit for me?
Usually the application has to come from you as the resident, because it's tied to your tenancy and your ID. What we can do is supply whatever the building asks for from the mover's side and work to the time slot you're given. Ask your building exactly what they need from the moving company, send us the list, and we'll get it back to you.
Lifts, loading bays and time slots
High-rise buildings normally require the service lift to be booked in advance, often in fixed blocks of a few hours, and many restrict how many moves can happen in a day. Some also assign a specific loading bay. If your slot is 9am to 1pm, the whole load has to be through the lift in that window — which is exactly why we ask about the floor and the lift before quoting.
Parking and the walk from the truck
The distance between where a truck can legally stop and where your front door is has a real effect on how long a move takes. Older buildings without a dedicated bay, villa communities with narrow streets, and towers with height-restricted basements all change the plan. Tell us if there's anything unusual about the approach, including height barriers.
Community rules and villa access
Villa communities often have their own gate procedures — vehicle plate numbers submitted in advance, contractor passes, restricted hours at weekends. Some communities are relaxed; others are strict. A quick call to your community management a week before will tell you which one you're in.
Timing and the weather
Early starts are better almost all year, and essential between roughly May and September when working through the middle of the day is hard on both people and furniture. Bear in mind that outdoor work restrictions apply during the hottest months in the UAE. Practically, that means starting at 7 or 8am rather than mid-morning.
What to do before the team arrives
- Confirm your permit is approved and your lift slot is booked at both addresses
- Keep passports, documents, jewellery, medication and laptops with you, not on the truck
- Empty and defrost the fridge the night before, and drain the washing machine

Do I need to be there on moving day?
Someone should be, at both ends. Decisions come up constantly — what goes, what stays, where furniture lands — and they're much quicker to answer in person. If you can't be there yourself, nominate someone who can make those calls and give us their number in advance.
What should I do the night before?
Finish any packing you're doing yourself, defrost the fridge and drain the washing machine, keep passports, jewellery, medication and laptops separate from the load, and set aside the items that shouldn't be loaded.
